Albrecht Dürer. The Crucifixion. 1511

The Crucifixion

Albrecht Dürer

1511

Do note the similarity in concept between this work and Vasnetsov’s Rejoice in the Lord, All ye Righteous. Did Viktor Mikhailovich ever look at Dürer’s work? It’s a possibility…

It is often erroneously thought that Dürer was a Proddie. Not so, he was an RC… but the Proddies have picked up his art (mainly, as they have produced so little of their own).
